The multiplier effect states “Multipliers are factors that are used as a way of predicting the total effect of the creation of an additional job or the spending of an additional dollar will have on a community‘s economy”. Between 1987 to 1999, 55 sports facilities were constructed in the United States at a price of above $8.7 billion, which avoid the indirect cost of infrastructure like highways, bridges, etc. More than 57% of the $8.7 billion was financed by taxpayers (Click, 2010). Lucas Critique refers to the empirical validity and applicability of multipliers was disproved by economist Robert Lucas in 1976. Lucas won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1995 for his contribution.
